Preston Ruh Racing and team headed out west this past weekend battling at I-94 EMR Speedway and River Cities Speedway. The team was eager to make their first appearance at both of these tracks.
At I-94 Speedway, Ruh laid down a qualifying lap of a 15.349 placing him 7th in his heat. With a new track surface for the team, Ruh finished moved up to 6th. Ruh would then be placed in the B Feature starting third. Ruh once again moved forward to challenge for the lead but ultimately landing himself second to transfer to the main event.
During the main event, Ruh was forced to play a card that landed him into the turn four wall collapsing the 26R's front axel 16 laps into the feature ending his night.
The team kept their heads up and traveled to River Cities Speedway for the remainder of their time out west. Ruh qualified 10th quick with a lap of 11.876. Ruh went straight into his heat race and then transferred successfully into the main event. During the opening lap of the 30 lap feature, Ruh made light contact with a car in the first corner. Fighting the car the rest of the feature, Ruh brought home a solid finish.
The team took their notes from Friday and checked into the speedway again for the conclusion of the Buffalo Wild Wings King of the Wings. Ruh laid down a lap of 11.509 in qualifying and landed himself 7th in his heat. The team battled, but was one short to transfer into the main event from the heat.
Ruh put on a clinic during the B-Main in his Professional Plating Inc 26R. Locking himself into a transfer spot. In the final corner of the final lap, the 26R moved up half a lane and let one car under, putting the 26R out of the transfer spot.
"Although the weekend had some low lows, there was still plenty that we learned about the car. I've always struggled to run the cushion with this new 410, but I felt comfortable all weekend up there thanks to Chris and Dad's set ups. Making two out of the three features up against stacked competition and close to 40 sprints is a victory in and of itself." Ruh stated.
Additionally on Saturday at the Plymouth Dirt Track, the Ruh Racing family was inducted into the PDTR Wall of Fame. Ruh commented on social media that day stating, "My family’s racing legacy continues to be motivation to keep digging through my own racing. My Grandpa, Uncles, Cousins, and Dad inspire me every day."
The Ruh Crew 26R will be back in action for the kick off of fair season this Friday, July 21st at Outagamie Speedway for the Outagamie County Fair. Then the team will take the weekend of July 28th and July 29th off to stand up and support his twin sister's wedding.
The team would love to thank their 2023 sponsors for all their support this season:
